Welcome to the Bees Knees Day Nursery and Pre School
Welcome to the home of The Bees Knees Day Nursery, a day nursery accepting children of between six weeks and five years old – right up until they can start at primary school. Our day nursery has three separate age groups, meaning that the activities can be structured based on the age of your child, so that they will get the ideal provisions for their needs. Preparing to face the world is never easy, and the development that needs to occur between birth and school age is incredible. Our staff are dedicated to helping this happen, however, and The Bees Knees Day Nursery are proud to say that we help children to become well-rounded and confident young people, who are more than happy to enter the next stage in their education with a smile.
Through different types of play and other activities, your child will learn a huge number of important lessons while having fun at the same time – and after all, that’s what being a child should be all about. Opening Times
The Bees Knees is open Monday to Friday from 8.00am until 6.00pm.The nursery is closed during the Christmas and New Year periods and on Bank Holidays.
Age Range
We have 3 nursery rooms caring for children from 6 weeks to 5 years: Honey Bees - 6 wks to 2 yrs, we aim to move children up between 2 & 2.5 yrs. Bumble Bees - 2 yrs to 3 yrs, we aim to move children up between 3 & 3.5 yrs. Pre-School Busys- 3 yrs to 5 yrs The Staff ratio is 1:3 (1 adult per 3 children) for Honey Bees, 1:4 for Bumble Bees and 1:7 for pre-school Busys
Meals
Menus for all meals are displayed in the foyer. Breakfast is at 9.30am Hot lunch is at 12.00pm Snack is at 2pm Hot tea is at 4.00pm
Nursery Information

This is why we have put together a nursery service that is specially tailored to suit every single child who attends. Honey Bees (6 weeks - 2 years)
We know just how difficult it can be to leave your young children in the care of others for the very first time, however thanks to the fact that many parents have to work these days, it is an essential part of their development. However, once you have seen our Honey Bees class, which is suitable for children of between 6 weeks and two years old, any reservations will simply melt away. Our experts are highly trained in child care, and all of them love their job, which means that looking after your child is a joy. You are sure to look forward to seeing their smiles at the end of the day, just like we look forward to seeing theirs at the beginning.
Bumble Bees (2 years - 3 years)
The life of a toddler should be full of activity and joy, and this is what we try to base our Bumble Bees sessions around. This group is for children of between 2 and 3 years, who aren’t babies, but still need closer monitoring than our oldest group. They will learn through play, and this will help them to get ready to find their place in the world when they’re a little older. You are more than welcome to come and take a look at what we can offer, and we are certain that you will be happy for your child to attend.
Pre-School (3 years - 5 years)
The final couple of years before your child goes to primary school are very important, as it is then that they will be able to learn the lessons that they will take with them when they reach the next stage in their education. We understand this, and this is why our pre-school class for children between three and five is specially tailored with getting them ready for school in mind. We have an impressive mixture of learning and fun, and all staff are absolutely dedicated to the care that we provide for your child. When it comes to getting ready for school, there really is no better place.
